What We’ve Built

A practical alternative to virgin plastic

NESS-GEX is a bio-calcium additive made from recovered eggshell waste. Supplied as pellets like standard plastic, it blends directly into existing production.

By replacing 30–50% of virgin plastic, NESS-GEX delivers immediate plastic and carbon reduction - without disrupting operations.

Why NESS-GEX?

  • Replaces up to 50% of virgin PP/PE

  • Around 70% lower carbon footprint compared to PP and PE

  • Maintains the recyclability or biodegradability of the products it’s blended with

  • Integrates into existing processes - no machinery changes required

  • Price per ton comparable to virgin plastics

NESS-GEX works with most common plastics - including polypropylene, polyethylene, recycled plastics, and ocean-bound plastics — and integrates into standard manufacturing methods such as injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion, thermoforming, and film production.

It’s already used in packaging, bottles, cosmetics, household goods, industrial products, trays, bags, and more.

Built for today’s sustainability demands

As sustainability regulations tighten worldwide, manufacturers are under increasing pressure to reduce plastic and improve sustainability reporting.

NESS-GEX helps businesses:

  • Reduce reliance on fossil-based plastics

  • Lower carbon footprint

  • Support ESG and sustainability targets

  • Stay compliant with evolving regulation

  • Improve product sustainability without redesigning factories

NESS-GEX is SGS certified for plastic and carbon reduction, recyclable under EN13430, RoHS and REACH compliant, FDA approved for appropriate food-contact applications, and certified antibacterial.

Why It Works

Most sustainability conversations focus on which plastic to use. NESS-GEX shifts the question to how much plastic is actually in the material.

Because of its high density, a relatively small volume of NESS-GEX can outweigh a much larger volume of plastic. The result? A finished product where plastic can represent less than half of the total weight — changing what the material is fundamentally, not just what it contains.

This can have real implications for how products are treated under regulation:

  • UK — HMRC has confirmed that composite materials where polymer accounts for less than half of total weight are not considered plastic for Plastic Packaging Tax purposes — thereby potentially eliminating this tax liability entirely

  • Across Europe — plastic packaging regulations are increasingly tied to material composition — making it a critical factor in managing regulatory exposure

Reducing plastic content changes not just a product's environmental footprint, but its regulatory classification entirely.

Get Started

A collaborative trial process

We don’t just ship material and walk away. We work with you to find the right starting point.

Here’s how it typically works:

1. Initial conversation
We learn about your products, materials, and goals.

2. Identify opportunities
Together, we pinpoint where NESS-GEX can have the biggest impact.

3. Material recommendation
We recommend the right type of NESS-GEX, how much virgin plastic can be replaced, and — where relevant — support regional compliance requirements such as UK Plastic Packaging Tax.

4. Samples and trials
We provide material for testing and support your trial process.

5. Refine and scale
Based on results, we help optimise and move toward production.

The goal is simple: make integration easy, effective, and commercially viable.

About the CEO

Harvey is a serial entrepreneur with a track record of building and scaling practical businesses. Most recently, he founded and continues to run a sustainability-focused manufacturing company producing biodegradable nappies and straws - giving him first-hand experience of what it really takes to bring sustainable products to market, from compliance and regulation to manufacturing and sales.

Driven by a strong belief that businesses must play a meaningful role in protecting the environment, Harvey is passionate about finding solutions that work in the real world. He saw the potential of sustainable materials early on and recognised an opportunity to make them available more widely - helping manufacturers reduce plastic and carbon without disrupting their operations.

Known for his down-to-earth, collaborative approach, Harvey combines curiosity with execution. He explores new ideas, builds practical solutions, and focuses on impact. In 2024, he launched NESS-GEX with a clear goal: to help businesses across multiple industries adopt cleaner, lower-carbon materials - and make sustainability easier to achieve at scale.
